Holy cats — I feel like Alice through the looking-glass since I unpacked all this WordPress and MAMP stuff. Or perhaps Dorothy after she goes from black and white to color is a better analogy. There’s something so thrilling about finding out that you’ve got a whole new set of skills to sink your teeth into. The hardest thing is knowing where to start!

Brief shout-outs to Lorraine Nepomuceno for this article at Devlounge about testing locally using MAMP (finding this out was a true head:desk moment — why didn’t I uncover this for myself sooner???), and also to Michael Doig who took the pain out of getting it all up and running with this post at his blog. It’s like having a booster pack!

I’m figuring out how to manipulate the css & html/php of stuff, so expect to see things looking bizarre around here until I’ve got the training wheels off…
